The Oystercatcher guest house is set in a quiet location with excellent access to beautiful moorland and hill walking or rambling along the shoreline of Loch Roag. Carishader is a crofting community so don't be surprised to see sheep freely wandering and grazing the verges. On the bed and breakfasts croft we have a mixture of sheep and ponies which are more than happy to munch on your left over toast . The wildlife is amazing with golden eagles, deer, otters and some fantastic native and migratory bird life.
We are a 40 minute drive from Stornoway and a 5 minute drive from the local Uig Community Shop which has 24/7 fuel pumps and ATM with the shop open Monday to Saturday.

We are a 25 minute drive from the famous Callanish Stones, a must see whilst visiting the island. We are also a 30 minute drive from the Blackhouse Village and many beautiful beaches are within a short drive including Ardroil and Reef.
Local restaurants include Uig Sands which is a 10 minute drive from the B&B. This is a licensed restaurant specialising in local produce and seafood with beautiful views over Uig bay.

The Edge Cafe also serves wonderful home cooked food in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Uig Community Cafe is also open Thursday to Saturday serving light lunches.
